Christy Porter is excited to be part of your child's music training! Miss Porter grew up in Arizona and attended college at ASU where she graduated with a degree in Music Education. She also received a master's degree from NAU. Miss Porter taught music for Mesa Public Schools from 1994-2007, during which time she served on the music curriculum development committee and as the organizer for the Mesa Young People's Orchestra and the Junior High Festival Orchestra. After teaching at Heritage Academy and Self Development Charter schools, Miss Porter returned to Mesa Public Schools, teaching at Eagleridge Enrichment Academy.  She loves learning and is always striving to improve her teaching and playing skills. She currently teaches privately from her home and studio in Gilbert Arizona.

Miss Porter has been a member of numerous professional organizations and is currently  a member of the East Valley Music Teacher's Association. She serves as co-chair of the Foundation Commitee and is working with the Arizona Study Program committee. 

Miss Porter performed with the Mesa Symphony for 10 years and has played with many orchestras around the valley, including her own string quartet.  

In addition to teaching and performing, Christy enjoys reading, cooking, gardening animals of all types-especially her miniature goldendoodle Grace, and traveling.
